WSU Cougar Football Scrimmage at Martin Stadium

The scrimmage was pretty good.  Jerome Harrison looked very good, starting the first play of the last drive with a 51 yard run.  Husain Abdullah had a great day even though he dropped 2 potential picks (he was in position for them).  Kyle Basler still has a leg that doesn’t quit. Aaron Johnson, DT, stopped some runs and really played well when he was in.

Gary Rogers would have been carried off the field if it wasn’t a scrimmage: a defensive end came off the corner (didn’t catch his number) and could have taken off his head, but slowed up because of the yellow jersey.

At Quarterback Both Brink and Swogger had their moments.  Swogger looks to have the confidence of the team and clearly the strongest arm.  Cole Morgan threw a long, perfect pass to a green shirted practice teamer.  Arkelon Hall had a nice run for a first down, and also unwisely took on a linebacker and lost.  All-in-All, The Cougs looked good for the first scrimmage other than a few miscues, fumbles, dropped balls, wrong routes – but all those are to be expected.
